Trance

On Reflection…
It’s not a good idea to read Richard Bandler’s Guide to Trance-Formation late at night when you’re already tired and perhaps a little sleep-deprived.

Dreams

December 23, 2009

So I had the strangest dream last night. Now normally I don’t remember my dreams, but this was so terrifying that it actually woke me up and I could remember most of it.

I was at my friend’s house for a Christmas barbeque. He was in the garden helping his dad pile these huge thick sausages onto the barbeque and I was in the dining room with his mum who was grilling me on my future career path. I can’t remember much of this conversation.

Then later my friend was setting the table inside. It was like a formal dinner with I don’t know how many knives and forks and three glasses for each place setting. I offered to help put the plates out so my friend took me into another even more formal dining room which had already been set out at which point his mum storms in and says: “What are you doing?! Only seniors are allowed in the formal room!”

OK so I take the plates back into the other room and try to put them out, but I can’t work out where they go because the table has so many little placemats on that I just get real confused. Then this little kid, say around seven years old (I can only assume he’s my friend’s brother even though I know this guy hasn’t got a brother) comes up to me and tells me I’m doing it all wrong. He says, “Why are you putting them [the plates] out along one side of the table? They should be on both sides.” I tell him I can’t get round to that side of the table. Then he starts polishing the glasses and telling me that I don’t know what I’m doing… I wake up at this point.

Dreams are weird. I wish I knew what this meant.

Time

December 21, 2009

The Doctor on the subject of time:

“People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect but actually, from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it’s more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly… timey-wimey… stuff.”

I love this! It’s from the episode “Blink” if anyone’s interested.
